About Us

The Red River Inn is a friendly pub situated in the small, seaside village of Gwithian, just a few minutes walk from the Cornwall Coast Path. The pub is named after the nearby river which, until the latter part of last century, was coloured red by iron ore run-off from the now defunct tin mines of Camborne and Redruth.
We are currently closed but when we open again in early spring we will be open seven days a week. We take both our customers and staff’s health seriously and have gone to great lengths to make sure you can enjoy some of Cornwall’s great food and drink as safely as possible.
We have opened the bar and dining area for sit-down table service but if you prefer to enjoy what Gwithian and Cornwall are famous for – fresh air and wide open countryside – then you are welcome to eat in the beer garden and courtyard areas.
We have both a covered and open air dining area in the beer garden and a courtyard from which you can watch the sun fall over the towans awaiting your visit.
